Overview

The Utility Analyst II works with utility data on a large scale to evaluate cost, consumption and measure savings related to energy efficiency and procurement options. They will frequently interact with clients, contractors, and engineers to fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities of the positions. The Senior Utility Analyst's responsibilities include maintaining, analyzing and reporting on utility data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing communication between clients, stakeholders, and internal resources.
  • Take an ownership role for maintaining data acquisition, accuracy, and storage tools.
  • Develop and review energy consumption baselines and adjustments through regression analysis and other appropriate methods.
  • Assist in the development of requirements and the testing of new software tools.
  • Work with clients and utility representatives to obtain access to historical and current utility data.
  • Review utility invoices for errors and dispute errors with the utility on behalf on the client.
  • Maintain EPA Energy Star client accounts. Conduct energy benchmarking work for portfolio of buildings.
  • Develop RFPs and manage the procurement and execution of utility account and energy supply contracts.
  • Research utility rate changes and deregulated energy cost trends.
  • Research and evaluate energy efficiency programs and rebates throughout multiple service areas.
  • Interface closely with the Energy Analytics team to ensure all appropriate data is communicated and assist with transition of information to energy modeling
  • Perform the assigned duties with minimal supervision, while working in a team problem-solving environment.
  • Upholds Company owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of Experience in related field.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft applications.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Experience with database queries.
  • Experience with VBA other process related programming language.
  • Certifications; CEM, CMVP, CEP, CEA, EEP, or BEP through the Association of Energy Engineers or equivalent.
  • Experience with energy efficiency programs.

Travel Requirements

  • Expected to travel 10% of the time on occasion to job sites for client meetings.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Quiet environment.
  • Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
