Overview

The Fabrication Coordinator is responsible for influencing a project by seeing out the strategic approach to fabrication and installation. They are a cost effective decision maker.

Responsibilities

  • Preconstruction / Planning
    • Be involved in the Project Kickoff Meeting and the Brainstorming and Fabrication Meeting to identify racks, assembly fab, and miscellaneous fabrication opportunities.
    • Assist the B.U. in solidifying the PVF sheet.
    • Work with the Project Team to deliver all necessary information to the appropriate areas of the company.
    • Develop a Detailing / Fabrication schedule (using the project schedule as a baseline).
    • Share information with everyone to maintain consistency with the fabrication and installation strategies.
  • Detailing
    • Drawing preview (mark-up contract drawings) prior to starting shop drawings (this should be done at the Brainstorming Meeting).
    • Attend weekly Project Team / Detailing in house meeting.
    • Review milestone revisions to ensure the fabrication strategy is in line.
    • Attend internal and external coordination meetings.
    • Work with the Project Team to drive the shop drawing schedule / milestones (timelines and deliverables).
  • Fabrication
    • Help identify and implements what will be fabricated.
    • Drive the projects to adhere to the fabrication strategy identified in the planning meetings.
    • Coordinate with the Superintendent and Project Manager to mark up the shop drawings for submission to Fabrication.
    • Work closely with the Production Coordinator for Fabrication on upcoming (identifying MD's) and ongoing fabrication.
    • Review spools (with the Project Team) once Fabrication Detailing is completed. This includes BOM vs. PVF, accuracy of spool selection, delivery approach, etc.
    • Provide feedback to the Fabrication Shop / Company (success & failure).
  • Other
    • Promote company culture, attitude, and commitment.
    • Uphold the company's standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of building systems, codes, cost, fabrication, and installation.
  • Ability to communicate with others and represent the company professionally.
  • Understanding the BIM (building information modeling) process.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

  • 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Quiet environment.
  • Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $66,760.00 - USD $89,185.00 /Yr.
