Overview

The Energy Analyst III administers programs meant to curtail peak electrical demand.

Responsibilities

• New Project Development


o Explores opportunities to implement demand response and demand management initiatives.
o Create forecasting models to predict baseline and proposed power consumption profiles.
o Prepare financial projections to evaluate the impact of demand response strategies.
o Communicates project concepts and scopes effectively to stakeholders.
o Analyzes facility interval data from electric utility meters and BAS telemetry to identify opportunities and validate forecasting assumptions.


• New Project Implementation


o Develops detailed BAS controls scope of work for HVAC demand response initiatives.
o Performs hands-on testing of HVAC demand response strategies using BAS front-end controls.
o Collects and evaluates test data to assess the effectiveness of various strategies.
o Provides commissioning services for HVAC demand response, including design drawing reviews, submittal reviews, functional testing, and final reporting.
o Coordinates with demand response program participants to enroll projects in relevant programs.
o Designs measurement and verification plans to document electrical demand (kW) and cost savings through on-bill demand charge reductions.


• Existing Project Ongoing Support


o Supports other teams in sustaining savings and revenue through effective demand response and management strategies.


• Innovation and R&D


o Tests innovative demand management strategies and shares findings with engineering teams.
o Develop dashboards and tools to streamline implementation and reduce costs for HVAC demand response.
o Keeps abreast of industry trends and advancements in HVAC demand response.


• Leadership and Problem Solving


o Manages complex issues and problems, escalating only the most intricate challenges to senior staff.
o Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members, potentially serving as a lead or first-level supervisor.

 

This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Energy Engineer III, PE.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree
• 2-5 years of experience
• Possesses some knowledge of the subject matter (HVAC, Controls, Electrical Power, Metering, Data, Energy Modeling, Demand Response)
• Ability to influence others
• Problem/situation analysis
• Conceptual thinking skills
• Project management skills - organized
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

 

Travel Requirements


• Available to travel up to 20% of the time.

 

Physical/Work Environment Requirements


• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• Low & high temperatures.
• Noisy and quiet environments.
• Small and/or enclosed spaces.
• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $76,860.00 - USD $102,620.00 /Yr.
