The VP Corporate Controller is responsible for all of the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting and consolidation, and development and maintenance of a comprehensive set of controls and procedures.
• Develops and executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls.
• Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and coordinates the preparation of financial statements and filings in compliance with GAAP.
• Conducts ad hoc analyses of the organization's finances and presents findings to executive leadership for decision making and planning.
• Develops internal controls and oversees audits of policies and procedures meant to preserve the organization's assets.
• Responsibility for AP/AR and payroll functions.
• Evaluates US accounting standards to record project related transactions in compliance with GAAP guidance requirements and company policies. Responsibilities include:
• Assesses the accounting requirements and objectives to determine the proper accounting treatment, the implications on the business and communicate to stakeholders with varying financial knowledge.
• Directly supervises general ledger functions related to profit recognition and consolidation for multiple-entity construction specialty contracting companies operating in multiple states. Oversees the operations of the Consolidation Accounting team and directly supervises the staff members, including managing an organizational structure to achieve the department's goals and objectives. Includes the following:
• Supervises and reviews general ledger entries and reconciliations related to Integrated Solution Projects.
• Directs activities related to the recording of accounting transactions, timely preparation and validation of account reconciliations, timely resolution of reconciliations and exceptions.
• Reviews and works to improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Develops and executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and financial systems and controls.
• Directly manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual profit recognition and consolidation accounting close processes and assists in the coordination of the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP including but not limited to the following:
• Assists in issuing timely and complete monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Reviews internal and external reports, schedules, and statements.
• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensures that all deliverables are in accordance with current accounting standards. Deliverables for the Consolidation team include the following:
• Interpreting accounting reports and implementing changes to improve reporting and/or accounting processes and procedures.
• Providing timely, accurate and meaningful information to aid executive management decisions.
• Conducting ad hoc analyses of the organization's finances and presenting findings to executive leadership for decision making and planning.
• Responding to inquiries received from management, internal and external auditors, and others regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
• Compiling yearly audit schedules and assisting Senior Director of Financial Reporting with audit.
• Assisting with managing relationships with independent auditors.
• Complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and assisting Senior Director of Financial Reporting with tax filings
