Overview

 

The Fabrication Production Scheduler is responsible for the coordination and routing of digital fabrication files across multiple business units and ERPs. The Scheduler works closely with superintendents and managers to prioritize work packages and routing/distribution. The Fabrication Scheduler is considered the technical expert in planning/scheduling using multiple ERPs and is required to understand the relationships between estimating, engineering, procurement, material control, fabrication, progress, cost control, and risk management.

 

Responsibilities

 

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Establishes and leverages cross-discipline relationships within each business group to facilitate planning/scheduling and work pack distribution.
  • Provides planning/scheduling leadership on fabrication teams.
  • Actively reviews and thoroughly understands all aspects of data extraction, conversion, and distribution.
  • Develops file content and exports to the appropriate format for specific fabrication systems and equipment.
  • Develops fabrication dashboards for workflow and workpiece status from receipt of order to shipping.
  • Baselines and issues network-logic-driven schedules that meet the needs of, and are used by, the project team.
  • Updates schedules with actual progress and forecasts remaining durations, project milestones, and completion dates.
  • Prepares schedule risk analysis and related cost impacts to support contingency management.
  • Monitors earned value systems that accurately measure progress and performance.
  • Creates and issues project status reports that effectively communicate schedule status and identify the critical path.
  • Applies practical field experience with planning/scheduling knowledge to identify challenges to project schedules and suggest mitigation plans.
  • Implements and trains on standard planning/scheduling procedures.
  • Coordinates and communicates with members of the project team to develop deliverables.
  • Identifies and communicates key schedule issues to project/construction management in a timely manner to allow corrective action to be implemented.
  • Supports small to medium size projects with increasing complexity.
  • Checks data from internal and external groups to ensure accuracy and highlight constraints and problem areas.
  • Supports the setup of the progress measurement database/system.
  • Incorporates change management impacts into the schedule.
  • Attends schedule and production-related project meetings.
  • Supports the preparation of documentation for the invoicing process.
  • Ensures adherence to Project Controls processes and procedures.

 

Qualifications

 

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related technical field OR 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in multiple ERP systems.
  • Possesses excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Understands fabrication full-service project delivery processes.
  • Independent, proactive, accurate, with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Implements and effectively uses company-standard planning/scheduling and data manipulation tools such as, but not limited to, JDE, Camduct, Revit, Stratus, etc.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
 
Travel Requirements:
  • 0–5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s) or office locations.

Pay Range

USD $27.92 - USD $37.29 /Yr.
